KELDUHVERFI

Location : Keldurhverfi, North Iceland

The tour begins in Husavik and we take a 40 minute scenic drive to Kelduhverfi where the famous horseshoe-shaped canyon Ásbyrgi is located. We will dive in the magnificent underwater canyon Nesgjá, a shallow 4 meter deep canyon filled with crystal clear water which comes out of the lava and runs into the lake. After a 30 minute* dive we will drive further into Kelduhverfi to the spectacular Stekkjargjá, which was recently discovered as diving/snorkeling spot.

Whalewatching tours with Northsailing in Húsavík can be arranged either before or after your scuba dive.

Availability : May-October

Diving skills :  this is a great dive for beginners, but dry suit experience is preferred.*

Includes : 2 dives, hotel pick-up and drop-off in Husavik or Akureyri, a local experienced dive guide, a light lunch onboard and lots of fun!

You need to bring : A diving certification from any recognized diving organization, warm long underwear and thick socks.

Note:

In order to get the most out of your scuba diving experience in Iceland we recommend that all participants come well prepared.  Having a good hearty breakfast the morning of your scuba dive will give you the energy you need for the dive.  Also, if you have only used a wetsuit we recommend that you acclimatize yourself with dry suit diving first!  If you have not had previous dry suit experience we offer the possibility of dry suit testing before you dive. * for a small fee
